PRODUCTION ENGINEER

Contender Boats is looking for a Production Engineer to join the Engineering Department in Ft. Pierce, Florida. The right candidate will be a self-motivated employee who can work alongside production, sales, and marketing. They will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and adjusting core, fiberglass, and upholstery kits for all models. They will also be responsible for troubleshooting any issues throughout the production process, as well as facilitating any custom requests from customers. Design work may be required to improve processes, add new features, or accommodate sales requests.

Working with a 5-axis CNC machine and an automated glass cutter, the ideal candidate will have experience in CAD drafting, CNC programming, and CNC operation. Knowledge of boat building is strongly preferred, however knowledge of FRP manufacturing in an unrelated field will also be considered.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in related engineering field (mechanical, civil, marine, etc.)
• AutoCAD drafting and 3D modeling proficiency (Rhino, SolidWorks, Fusion 360)
• CNC programming experience, in both 3 and 5-axis
• Boat building knowledge/experience preferred
